Vote Tripling
We can often have the greatest impact on those who we already have well-established relationships with. This is the motivation for a simple but effective category of Get Out the Vote (GOTV) tactics known as “Vote Tripling.”
The basic idea of Vote Tripling is for each of us to commit to reaching out to three other people we are comfortable with and trying to ensure that they take this election seriously. A 2018 research study found that a text message from a friend increased likelihood to vote by 8%.
One version of Vote Tripling begins well before the election and involves multiple conversations. See Vote Tripling.
Another version of Vote Tripling requires only that we immediately contact three other people immediately after we cast our vote. See Polling Place Vote Tripling.
