How Can We Change It?

Both in physics and in politics, mass times velocity equals momentum. In politics, mass refers to the number of people engaged, and velocity refers to the intensity of their engagement. For a small group such as ours, our most promising opportunities for action are those that connect us with others (to effectively expand our mass), and those that promote more vigorous engagement (to help increase velocity). Within our team, though, we also need to allow different people to contribute according to their own distinctive strengths and interests.

Our overarching goal for 2026 is to support initiatives and candidates that increase the ability of ordinary Americans to have a meaningful voice in our democracy. To understand where we can most effectively contribute, we are assembling an annotated list of the organizations that are already engaged, and of the initiatives they are pursuing:
